S. Fairchild St. $40. 8×10 inches, oil on panel. Another attempt at a “vista.” This time I got lots of cars and people in the picture. I should’ve put more detail into the building in shadow on the left. It was fun painting the transparent glass of the Overture Center, the next building down on the left. I’ve started putting in shadow areas with a violet made from ultramarine blue and cadmium orange, which I got from an Emile Gruppe book. I like his approach a lot.
