E. Gorham St. Sold. 8×10 inches, oil on panel. This picture was really fun to paint because the difference between the shadow and highlight areas was so dramatic. Since Madison isn’t very big, just about the only place you find old houses like this is downtown in the student neighborhoods. Which for me is lucky because no one pays any attention if a stare at their house for a few hours–in a more suburban neighborhood I’d feel much more self-conscious.
