Virtual Paintout

Istanbul
Istanbul 11/22/15

I got the link for the Virtual Paintout from the Plein Air Painters of Dane County website and thought it’d be fun to try it. I got Google street view to work on my iPad and went to Istanbul, this month’s site. I liked this shot from street view because of the combination of historical buildings and modern-day residents at a bus stop. Here’s the location and short url, in case you want to check it out: Sarıdemir, Ragıp Gümüşpala Cd. No:46, 34134 Fatih/İstanbul, Turkey. https://goo.gl/maps/cugZjsoYQTr

I had a good time making the picture—the bush in the middle was probably the most fun. And it got me thinking a lot about what it would be like to live in Istanbul.

Sadly, however, I didn’t read the rules closely enough until I got ready to send my picture. Then I found out digital art wasn’t accepted. So here it is, for your eyes only.
