A quick painting on the patio at my local coffee shop on a rainy day. I’m working on putting down a few large shapes with as correct color as possible, then glazing over to “tune” the color for more accurate saturation and value. I made the shapes of the tree limbs with dark brown, then went over that with light blue and purple to cool them off. Greens tend to be too intense, so I’ve been glazing with light red to get a better olive-ish color. The umbrella started out mid-warm red, to which I added light blue to cool and lighten the top and warm dark red-brown for the bottom.
