Untitled

Henry St. Sold. 8×10 inches, oil on panel. I did this picture just after a teacher told me not to be “fussy” and simply state things with a few brush strokes. But I did it anyway in the greenery, which is about the hardest thing for me to paint. This is the site of the Madison Center for Creative and Cultural Arts, which now has to leave because they can’t afford the rent. I like scenes like this that climb up left-to-right, building by building. This is actually W. Dayton St., but Henry St. crosses just to the right.
