To complete my spring-weather theme, here's Chicago in the rain (specifically Starbucks on State just north of Chicago Ave.). Actually I started the picture last fall sitting at the window counter, and then finished it from photographs. The beauty of rain is the great reflections. This picture is also part of a series I started of people on their phones.
In technical color terms, this picture is made up of mostly chromatic grays and muted colors, with just a few prismatic colors. One nice thing about Ipad drawing is that once I've started the picture, I can work on it from photo reference anywhere; just take out my Ipad wherever I am and work for awhile. No set-up, no mess, just like people do with their knitting.
