I had to upgrade my computer system to be sure I was compatible with others I work with when I design books and newsletters. A side benefit of upgrading is I can rotate the 24-inch Dell monitor so I can draw from reasonably large photos on the Web. In the photo I have a French easel set up with my newsprint pad and charcoal and on the monitor is a photo from pixelovely, a great site for drawing practice. These are 1 minute sketches. I'm working on drawing values instead of just outlines. Up in the right corner is a drawing of me by Max Ranft, the teacher that really got me on the right track with figure drawing.
